Meet the owner

I am Yani Rivera, the owner of Nia Vera. I am from Puerto Rico and live in Maryland with my husband and two kids. My passion for sewing started in 2023 after taking a handbag sewing course. Sewing is one of the many crafts I enjoy doing and one of my favorites because amazing things can be created out of something that did not even have shape or structure at the beginning. After sewing throughout these years, I realized how much fabric "waste" is thrown away in the trash. It would stress me out seeing all those fabric strips and not doing anything with them, so I decided to start a business that gives fabric purpose and life in a different way.
